Bois Prin kézaco ? it is a pretty Savoyard dialect name which means "little wood", the one we pick up in the forest to light fires in the fireplace. Enough to maintain a flame of joyous atmosphere with family or friends, for unforgettable moments by the fire in an Alpine chalet perched up there in the mountain !
A metamorphosis for a little jewel of style placed on the snow
In 2021 and until the first snows of december, Nathalie is undertaking major renovation work consisting of raising and enlarging the Bois Prin. A new four-sided roof tops the chalet. The original round and massive beams are preserved and highlighted. Today they gives an aesthetic that is both elegant and artistic to this ornate frame opening out to the slopes. Kitchens and cellars are also rehabilitated. The cachet of the Bois Prin, all of wood and stones, is skilfully respected and embellished in order to bring its visitors a nice touch of modernity and comfort.
A family tradition
Le Bois Prin is a typical alpine chalet nestled at 1650 m altitude on the slopes of Plaine-Dranse and the ski link Châtel-Avoriaz.
Formerly a shepherd's chalet, Le Bois Prin is today the place to be for your gourmet break in the heart of the fantastic Portes duSoleil ski area.
Nathalie, accompanied by a nice team, is delighted to welcome you at lunch break in an authentic setting of wood and stone, to help you discover the passion of her Chef Frédérik GAIRE who offers inventive and Savoie cuisine prepared with local and seasonal products.

A unique panorama open to the sky, the sun and the magnificent Alps peaks
Sheltered in the foothills of the imposing Massif of Pointe de Chésery , the alpine pasture of Plaine-Dranse reveals its picturesque charm. It is a unique site in the Alps with its shepherds' chalets huddled together. All look towards Notre-Dame des Neiges , the secular religious protection of this pasture. This emblematic chapel with its audacious architecture, was built against a rock that was called in ancient times "the wolves stone" or the "cursed stone", on the place of an old oratory. Most of the family chalets now renovated are more than a century old. When the Savoy Duchy was annexed by France, this mountain pasture in the Haut-Chablais bordering Swiss Valais was already very much alive. Our great-great grandparents animated this summer pasture. The chalet of Marie GRILLET-AUBERT, our ancestor, crossed the century up to us. In 1983, Clément undertook the restoration of the chalet. The log walls were completely demolished, but the roof was kept and suspended by a solid shoring in order to preserve the right of use. This time, the facades were rebuilt, in stone, then new "tavaillons" (wooden tiles) came to cover the roof. In 1998, a new impetus allowed the transformation and the development of the chalet into a warmly altitude restaurant. The Bois Prin was born, but it remains in our memory the chalet of Marie GRILLET-AUBERT.
We look forward to welcoming you to this privileged environment in the heart of the Portes-du-Soleil !
